  2. There are books that tell their tales in the first few terrible paragraphs. No need to waste our time reading on... there are other tales (better tales) to read.

  4. Sometimes the sad endings are just so obviously inevitable that we can't be blamed for not wanting to dwell on the small agonies that lead to them.

  5. I may be odd but I was looking at this from the view of the wife..."edits herself from family". Sometimes the victims aren't who they seem to be.
